Country Music singer August Marie Ponte of McFarland KS. The roots of this song began when I was fifteen years old and my parents made me get a '98 Chevy Lumina; big black...every teenage girls dream, right? Wrong! Ever since I was little, I had my eyes set on one car, the Ford Mustang! When it came to color there was no other option but red! So as most songwriters do, I wrote about something that meant something to me, the difference was I had never written a song, so I just started writing down words and arranging line to make them rhyme. About a half a year later it was a song thanks to hard work from a co-writer, Joseph Mills and all the musicians that worked on it. It's my great pleasure to present to you my song, "Wild and Free". Hopefully it will take you back to memories of your first car, or put you in perspective with how I felt when it got a big black grocery getter as opposed to the red muscle car I had always dreamed of. This song symbolizes working toward a goal. In the song, I knew I wanted a mustang instead of sitting around doing nothing; so, I did something about it, by working. Unfortunately, I'm still in the process of the working end of the deal, but who knows if enough people like this song my dreams are made of to make it come true?
